Techconnect is Europe's most popular modular audio-visual faceplate engineered especially for AV installers. It is made up of a “surround” that fits to a backbox, then the modules fix in place to complete the installation. Techconnect is based around standard UK backbox sizes.

With new laptops now featuring a USB-C port, this package leverages that to make the user experience better. It features everything professional AV installers need for most basic interactive projector or display installations. It is a simple package that contains a basic selection of modules as a starting point, plus input and output cables. 

USB-C can carry USB and also video signal. So with this package users can use one cable to connect their laptop to the faceplate. The USB-C module actively splits out the USB and HDMI signal, so on the rear of the module is a tail with HDMI and USB-A sockets. Converting to these formats at the faceplate allows installers to use longer cables to get to the display.

Features

  • USB-C Alt Mode

    Most laptops and USB-C cables now support DisplayPort Alt Mode which is great news for AV users. This is what allows the single cable to carry USB for the touch screen function, and DisplayPort (which we convert to HDMI) for video. 

    Note: Our USB-C cable and modules have been tested thoroughly, but USB-C is still maturing so test the hardware prior to a roll-out.

  • 4K Ready

    This system supports 4K @ 60 Hz. Note: some display and source combinations won't allow 60 Hz because they are more sensitive to signal degradation.

  • Easy assembly

    Techconnect is easy to install and has more space behind the modules to stash cables.

  • Space for labelling

    The surround is white with a chiselled profile, and it has 11 mm of space above and below the modules for information or company branding stickers.

  • Stronger

    Techconnect has extra ribbing to reduce module flex and the plastic won't go brittle. We have designed them to last a lifetime.

  • Screw-In Modules

    The modules have a tab that hooks into the surround at the bottom, then a couple of turns of the pre-installed screws locks the modules into place.

  • Future-proof

    A family of modules work in the same surround, so if you ever need to change anything it is easy.
