At the start of the year, Vision Audio Visual, a leading AV support product manufacturer worked with Bristol’s University of the West of England (UWE) to help create versatile working hubs for students and staff alike.

Vision supplied and installed 7 of its innovative sit-stand desk risers within the agile learning space UWE’s students’ union building. The desks have been conveniently positioned within learning hubs that now enable students and staff the ability to work comfortably throughout the day, transitioning between sitting and standing positions.

The desk risers have been designed to provide improved muscular mobility and circulation among other health benefits. When entering the students union building, the sit-stand desk risers take prominent positions and its robust nature means its perfectly suited for open space working and learning environments.

Both sit-stand desk risers feature a quick release keyboard shelf, letting users decide if they want to use the platform. They have also been coated with a scratch resistant material as well as having a table slot for ipads and tablets and display fixings which allows superb cable management while truly contributing to the university’s ecosystem of flexible learning.

Rachel Colley, community manager at The Students Union, UWE, said;

“I love working on Vision’s sit-stand desk riser, the mobility it has offered through its range of height options and smooth operation is unparalleled. It’s now given me the option to host small catch-ups and huddle sessions around my desk, which means greater efficiency within the working day.

She continued;

“Practicality wise, it came in one box and the set-up was easy, with just a few components to put together. Since the installation, I’ve had jealous colleagues and students have enjoyed the option of sitting or standing in the union area. As someone who has suffered with back pain before, this has made me think proactively about my posture. Coming in and out of meetings means I can slide back into my desk space without any sharp movements.”
